The Story
I started VermontTaxAppeal.com after watching property owners—both residential and commercial—consistently overpay on their Vermont taxes. They didn't know how to fight it, didn't have time, or didn't trust the grievance process.
Vermont town listers are tasked with assessing at fair market value, but they often miss critical property-specific factors: current income, lease terms, deferred maintenance, functional obsolescence, and market adjustments. The result is an inflated assessed value — and a tax bill that's higher than it should be.
My approach is straightforward: I only take cases I think I can win. I use a rigorous evidence-based approach — income analysis, comparable sales, equity arguments — and I work entirely on contingency. If I don't deliver a reduction, you pay nothing. That's the only model I'm willing to operate on.
